Light Therapy in Northern Colorado with Lisa Chadsey

So now that you know about Light Therapy, what is it like to have a session?

I wanted to tell you about what a Light Therapy session is like based on my own experiences.

When you walk into my nice and tranquil office, we will sit down and have a candid conversation about your current health concerns. I will also discuss the different colored lights with you and talk with you about how each light addresses elements and parts of your body. I will also talk with you about the different ways that the lights can help you heal from any concerns that we’ve talked about at the start of your session.

While you are under the lights, you will feel very relaxed and will be seated in a comfortable position, often while listening to calming music. After the session, most people feel so relaxed that they just want to stay the night and rest. Which is awesome. A lot of people do fall asleep because of the soothing feeling that comes from the Light Therapy. This is great because this means your body has entered a parasympathetic state. This state is when your body is so relaxed that it calms down your central nervous system. And when you’re in that state your body heals.

Before the session begins, I will get nosy about your sleep issues if you have any. I’ll ask about what kind of sleeper are you. Because when you sleep that’s when your body can take the time to focus on healing itself. In contrast to what I mentioned above, the sympathetic state is the flight or fight state. Which seems to happen to us as soon as we open our eyes and our feet hit the floor. So during your time with Light Therapy, we want to have you in a parasympathetic state instead. That’s just an amazing state to be in because, just like I’ve mentioned a couple of times, that’s when your body does what it needs to and heals.

A lot of people feel comfortable once the session is over. Nice and calm, they feel grounded. Some people feel those feeling and also feel energized and clear headed. And it’s not the type of energy you have with a cup of coffee, it’s the type of energy where you feel like “I’m going to go do something!” It makes you happy and gets you in the positive state that you want to be in.

After the session I discuss things with you and I will also check in with you the next day. This is when we will talk about your options moving forward. I ask you if you want to do more light therapy sessions. On top of this there are even more options: you can rent the lights, you can buy the lights, and you can continue to do the light therapy sessions with me. It’s a great experience.

You can reach out to me anytime to see if this is a good fit for you. All of my contact information is below and I would love to hear from you!
